Entire Podiatry is excited to offer paraffin wax foot treatments at our clinics. A number of our clients have now tried this treatment and the feedback they’ve given us has been fantastic. Not only does our paraffin wax foot treatment feel great, it can also help to soften rough skin on the feet and offer relief from pain and joint stiffness associated with some foot conditions.
How does paraffin wax treatment work?
Paraffin wax is a soft wax that has a low melting point, so it melts at a temperature which is cool enough to be safe for extended immersion of the skin. The moisturising properties of paraffin wax help to soften the skin. The wax also smooths the skin by removing dead skin cells when the cooled wax is pulled away from the skin.
In addition to the moisturising effects, paraffin wax treatments are also a type of heat therapy that can help to reduce pain and joint stiffness. The warmth of the wax on the feet can assist to improve blood flow and reduce joint pain and stiffness.
What can I expect from a paraffin wax foot treatment?
First a sterilising solution is applied to your feet, then your feet will be dipped one at a time into the warm paraffin wax. After each foot is removed and the wax hardens, the feet can be dipped into the warm wax again (2-3 times) to create layers of warmth and moisture. Your feet will then be wrapped in plastic and placed into insulated boots for 10 minutes. After the treatment, the boots and wax coatings can be removed painlessly and with ease.
