Accessory NavicularĀ
Some people are born with an additional bone on the inside of their foot, just above the arch, known as an accessory navicular bone. This additional bone can cause pain in the arch of some people.
Navicular Stress Fracture
The navicular bone sits on the inside of the foot between the ankle and the midfoot. A stress fracture of the navicular bone can develop when too much stress is placed on the bone.
Insertional Tibialis Anterior Tendinopathy
The tibialis anterior is a tendon that sits at the front of the ankle and helps lift the foot towards the leg or ādorsiflexingā the foot. This tendon can become overused and a tendinopathy can develop where the tendon attaches to the top of the foot.
