The tibialis anterior muscle is a very strong muscle which sits at the front of the leg. Its tendon runs down the front of the ankle and inserts at the top of the foot.
This muscle and tendon is responsible for lifting the foot towards the leg orĀ ādorsiflexingā the foot. This tendon can become overused, irritated and painful.
Treatment for tibialis anterior tendinopathy involves rehabilitative exercises, rest, and addressing biomechanical causes for the overload.
